ジョン先生 

私はクラスに入学して以来全く欠席なしで通っています。
まず真っ先に私はジョン先生のユーモアのセンスと好もしいご性格が、
クラスメイトのかもし出す雰囲気と共に大好きなのです。
私はジョン先生のクラスは良く体系ずけられていると思います。
おまけに変化と融通性と人間性にあふれているのです。
もし、テキストだけにしばれていたら、すぐ英語を学ぶことに飽きて
しまうと思います。
幸いなことに私たちは、ジョン先生のよく考えられたスケジュールに
したがって、あちこち気持ちを切り替えられて楽しむことができます。
私は７８歳でクラスの最年長です。しかし、お教室にいる間私はその
ハンディキャップをしばしば忘れています。
クラスに出席することは私の退屈な生活の楽しみです。
私は出来るだけ長く英語を学び、精神的な老化をストップさせたいと
思っています。
たくさんの私のミスをお許しください。

I have been enjoying your classes without any absence since I

joined your class.

At first I love your sense of humor and favorable character as well as

the friendly atmosphere of all of the class-mates.

I believe your classes are well –organized besides they are full of

variety, flexibility and sense of humanity.

If we stick at the text book only in every class, we easily get tired of

English soon

Thank God, we can change our mind here and there according to

John’s well- organized schedule very quickly.

I am the eldest(78 years old)student in the class but I often forget

my handicaps while I am attending the class.

It is so fun to go to the class for me in my monotonous life.

I ‘d like to continue to study English in your class as long as possible

to stop mental aging.

The first Monday of September is a holiday in the United States called "Labor Day". Since it is on a Monday, many Americans travel to visit with their families on this 3-day weekend. Labor Day brings back many memories for me.  September is the beginning of the school year in my country.  When I think of September, I can recall feelings of excitement for starting something new.  Labor Day is also the second biggest sale day in the U.S.  One reason is that since most American children don't wear uniforms to school, mothers must take their children out to buy new school clothes.
The beginning of football season in America also starts on Labor Day.  From Labor Day until Superbowl Sunday at the end of January, football games are played every Monday night.
These are the things that I think about when I think about September....Labor Day, school, shopping, new friends, football, and oh, my birthday!

9月の第1月曜日は“Labor Day”(労働者の日)と呼ばれるアメリカの休日です。それは月曜日なので、多くのアメリカ人はこの週末の3日間に家族を訪ねるために旅行します。Labor Dayは私の様々な思い出を呼び戻してくれます。
私の国では9月は学年度の始まりです。9月について考えるとき、何か新しいことを始めるワクワクした気持ちを思い出します。
Labor Dayはアメリカで2番目に大きなセールの日でもあります。理由の1つがほとんどのアメリカの子供たちは制服を着ないため、母親は学校に来ていく新しい服を買うために子供たちを連れだすのです。
アメリカのフットボールシーズンの最初もLabor Dayに始まります。Labor Dayから1月の終わりのスーパーボールサンデーまで、毎週月曜の夜に試合が行われます。これらが私が9月で思いつくことです…

Back to Miami!

How has your summer been? Now that September has come, it is finally starting to cool off. Did you travel anywhere for summer vacation? I didn' t have any vacation, but I will take some time off in September.  I don't have any plans yet, I just want to relax.
Last month, we had a Hawaiian theme in the classroom since it was so hot.  At first, I planned to have only a few Aloha days because I don't have that many Aloha shirts.  However, since it was so much fun, I decided to make everyday in August Aloha Day! I want to say thank-you to my many students who dressed up for the occasion. I really enjoyed seeing many people's aloha shirts, moo-moos, hawaiian leis, flowers, and even Hawaiian shoe
Well, now that it is September, it will be back to normal, back to studying hard in the classroom! I am looking forward to Hawaii in Miami again next year! Aloha and Mahalo!

あなたの夏はどうでしたか？9月がやって来てやっと涼しくなり始めました。夏休み、どこかへ旅行しましたか？私は休みが取れませんでしたが9月のどこかでとるつもりです。予定はまだ何もないですが、ただリラックスしたいと思います。
先月、とても暑いので私たちはハワイアンをクラスのテーマにしました。最初、私はアロハシャツをたくさん持っていないため、数日だけハワイアンデイの予定にしました。けれどもとても楽しかったので、8月を毎日アロハデイにすることに決めました。この時にドレスアップしてくれた生徒さんたちにお礼を言いたいです。色々なアロハシャツやムームー、ハワイアンレイ、花、そしてハワイアンシューズを見て本当に楽しみました。
9月になったので一生懸命勉強し、通常に戻りましょう。来年もマイアミハワイをたのしみにしています。
